Experts note that the Saint Petersburg TRAVEL HUB-2022 international tourism forum held on December 7-9 was perhaps the most striking and large-scale business event of the 2022/23 winter season in the field of tourism. Let's talk about facts and figures.
Recall that the three-day TRAVEL HUB SPB forum, held in St. Petersburg from December 7 to 9, was organized by the Tourism Development Committee and the St. Petersburg Convention and Exhibition Bureau with the support of the Tourism.RF Corporation, the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO, the Association of Tour Operators Russia and the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs. Among the participants were representatives of public authorities, hospitality, business tourism and congress and exhibition activities, experts in the fields of IT, branding and creative development of territories.
More than 30 business events took place within the framework of the forum: strategic and foresight sessions, plenary discussions, round tables, thematic conferences, master classes. They were united by the common theme of sustainable development of tourism and its impact on the socio-economic development of regions and the country in modern conditions.
More than 60 speakers made presentations, forum participants took part in 8 creative master classes and many discussions .
The forum events were attended by about 4,000 people in total, while about 900 connections were recorded online daily.
Travel industry specialists from more than 20 regions of Russia, including Moscow and the Moscow Region, St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region, Kaliningrad, Samara, Kazan, Tyumen, Saratov, Saransk, Orenburg, Kirov, Veliky and Nizhny Novgorod, the Komi Republic, Pskov, Murmansk, Arkhangelsk, Kemerovo and Chelyabinsk.
A foreign audience was also widely represented, TRAVEL HUB SPB gathered guests from 19 countries: Turkey, China, Vietnam, India, Myanmar, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, UAE, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Venezuela, Chile, Senegal, Nigeria, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Belarus.
12 cooperation agreements were signed on the sidelines of the forum. Of these, 10 were concluded by the Congress and Exhibition Bureau of St. Petersburg. Among the key ones: an agreement with Salvia Promoters Pvt Ltd (India), International Marketing & Consulting Agency (Vietnam), Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR).
The bilateral cooperation agreement was signed by Vitaly Stepanishchev, General Director of the Business Center for the Development of Cooperation with Latin American Countries, and Mr. Rodrigo, President of the Association of Robotics of Chile Quevedo Silva.
The Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs, represented by the President of the Union, Sergey Voronkov, concluded an agreement with Salvia Promoters Pvt Ltd (India), which was signed by its director Zoya Chaudhary.
The multiplier effect of cooperation agreements signed at TRAVEL HUB SPB will result in a potential increase in the number of congress and exhibition events in St. Petersburg, and as a result, in the growth of the tourist flow.
