Dubai seems to be becoming a “place of attraction” for Russian smugglers, though not very lucky ones. In just a few days, customs at Moscow airports have already detected a second tourist trying to smuggle undeclared luxury goods for a considerable amount. This time, the smuggler was caught in Domodedovo, with diamonds totaling 13 million rubles.
According to the information of the customs service, the detainee is a citizen of Romania. In her hand luggage, undeclared white gold pectoral crosses encrusted with diamonds from the Graff jewelry brand were found – 18 pieces in total. The tourist also walked the “green corridor”. An undeclared Bulgari watch was also found on her. According to the Domodedovo customs, the total amount of unpaid customs payments for all this exceeded 4 million rubles.
What threatens the tourist is still unclear, but her “colleague”, who was detained a few days earlier at Sheremetyevo, has already been presented with an “article” – in its actions “there are signs of an offense, responsibility for which is provided for by part 1 of article 16.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation” Non-declaration in the prescribed form of goods subject to customs declaration. Recall that the tourist was also returning from Dubai and tried to carry in her luggage two Rolex watches in branded packaging, 3 bags of such famous brands as Louis Vuitton and Gucci, as well as 4 items of clothing and shoes.
