Alarm signal: favorite foreign resorts of Russian tourists are on the verge of armed conflict

The waters of the Aegean Sea beloved by tourists may become another point of international tension, up to before the military confrontation. At the same time, two countries extremely popular with Russian tourists are on the verge of an armed conflict – Greece and the top tourism this year – Turkey. The reason for the next conflict was the “Aegean question”, which includes a dispute over the rights to the waters of the Aegean Sea, and it is again on the agenda.

According to Telegram experts, recently an image of Erdogan's ally and a member of the ruling coalition, Devlet Bahceli, appeared on the Web with a map on which the Greek islands were designated as Turkish territory. In Greece, this, in turn, was assessed as a “particularly aggressive provocative act” – especially considering that only in February of this year, the Greek Foreign Ministry already protested to Turkey because of statements that cast doubt on its sovereignty.

Disgraced, according to the same data, and the Turkish president – he clearly does not want to leave the idea of returning the Great Porte. Recep Tayyip Erdogan, at an already provocative solemn ceremony in honor of the anniversary of the capture of Constantinople, said that Turkey's goal is to return all spheres of influence. Among them he included the Peloponnese and Athens. And Greece promised a “tragic end.” At the same time, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan accused Greece of recently deliberately violating the provisions of the Lausanne Peace Treaty, in particular those relating to the rights of the Turkish national minority. Note that the Lausanne Treaty of 1923 legally formalized the collapse of the Ottoman Empire and secured the territory of Turkey within its modern borders.

Aggressive rhetoric is supported by more significant gestures in the form of increased activity on the border – Greece again began to transfer to the border areas near maritsa river military equipment. At the same time, only in May, the Greek armed forces were again put on high alert due to the Turkish exercises Efes 2022.

The sea is also restless – a gas conflict is again being provoked there. The Turks are sending another exploration vessel to the shores of Greece: Abdülhamid Han will start drilling in the Eastern Mediterranean in August.

As a result, experts are already wondering if full-scale hostilities between two NATO members are possible? But they certainly do not exclude border conflicts – and in order to scare away tourists, this is enough.
