The Airports of Thailand Association appealed through social networks to tourists to remind three words that are forbidden to be spoken on their territory in order to avoid arrest and prison. The reason was the recent scandal with a Thai model who recorded a video at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok and specifically repeated the word “bomb”, writes Thaiger.
Nisamani “Nat” Lertworapong was criticized online for slyly and intentionally inserting a word in her speech that is not recommended to be spoken at airports. For example, “I want to eat noodles with fish bombs”, “Your dress is a bomb.”
Some netizens are sure that the model was just joking, and this should not be taken so seriously. Others noted that such things could cause a flight delay if heard by staff who would have to check all luggage and carry out additional security checks.
Thai Airports also made their comment. They noted that there are three words that should not be spoken before or during a flight:
- “bomb, explosion”, or “raberd” in Thai;
- “terrorist attack”, or “kankorkanrai”;
- “hijacking”, or “jee khruangbin”, “plon khruangbin ”.
It is a crime to mention such words at an airport or on board an aircraft. The punishment for him is up to 5 years in prison and/or a fine of up to 200,000 baht. If the words or actions endanger the aircraft during the flight, the offender faces 5 to 15 years in prison and/or a fine of 200,000 to 600,000 baht.
The organization notes that passengers should also not provoke panic with statements like “the plane will crash” and “bomb” signs on the windows. Throwing a bag at passengers or employees and running away is also a bad idea. It is not yet known if the Thai model was arrested after the recent escapade.
