Beware of the tiger – tourists have been warned who gathered to get acquainted with the sights of Thailand in the west of the country in the province of Kanchanaburi. A new danger – a big cat that went beyond the reserve and was seen in places that are actively visited by tourists, forced the Thai authorities to issue a special appeal to local residents and tourists.
According to the Thai media, we are talking about such popular attractions as Srinagarind Dam and the famous Erawan Waterfall. It was in this area that several CCTV cameras recorded a large wild cat walking around the platinum at about two in the morning.
Experts suggest that the tiger came out of the Salak Phra Wildlife Sanctuary. Reserve security officers who first spotted the tiger said the big cat was also moving around the dam. They urged the public and tourists not to go into the forest near the area. The mayor of the Erawan district, Kittisit Thummas, also appealed to tourists to be careful.
