Finland closes border for all Russians

From Friday, the “flying to Europe” from Russia will have no “land” bridges in the EU. Finland will completely close the border for Russian tourists on Thursday late in the evening. This was stated by the Finnish “official” newspaper Helsingin Sanomat.

According to the publication, the new border rules will come into force on Thursday evening. According to them, Russians will no longer be allowed into Finland either for the purpose of tourism or for the purpose of transit to other EU countries. Those who bought a cottage in Finland were also informed that real estate in Finland would no longer be the basis for obtaining a visa and entering this country. All this is part of the “principled decision”, which was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Finland, Pekka Haavisto.

So, the only EU country with which the “land” border was opened, Finland, did not last long – only ten days. Probably, the citizens who fled from the mobilization became the “last straw”. Recall, according to a statement voiced by the Finnish Border Guard, on Monday, September 26, it recorded the entry of 7,743 Russians across the land border, of which 3,662 people (more than 47%) turned out to be “transiters”: they left Finland on the same day and move on.
