Another police raid against producers and distributors of counterfeit alcohol in Turkish resorts has borne fruit. Over 3,000 bottles of counterfeit products of unknown origin were confiscated in the Alania resort alone. At the same time, it is obvious that the “shmurdyak” was intended for tourists – some of the products were found directly in the warehouse of the poisoning hotel. At the same time, “according to tradition”, branded drinks were faked.
Recall that the problem of counterfeit alcohol, which is generally “typical” for Turkey, has escalated significantly since the time of covid, since it has become difficult to “get” branded alcoholic beverages. The current situation only exacerbates the problem: in the context of the financial crisis, expensive imported alcoholic drinks are periodically being replaced with counterfeit products of incomprehensible quality, often simply life-threatening.
During this raid, according to Turkish media, 3,150 bottles of counterfeit branded liquor were seized. Part of the counterfeit was found in a truck stopped “on a tip”, another part was already in the hotel’s warehouse. A criminal case has been initiated against the counterfeit distributors.
Let us recall that a similar raid was carried out before the start of the season – then 2,000 liters of counterfeit prepared for bottling were immediately seized. The police assumes that it was intended, including for hotels. The source was the same – a car stopped on the road. Read the details at this link.
Tourists are warned that both hotel bars can serve as a source of danger, and mostly expensive imported alcohol is counterfeited, as well as booze in Turkish “public catering”. On the beaches of Antalya, even last season, they “covered” distributors who gave counterfeit tourists to drink. Moreover, they mostly got off with fines – although for an impressive amount of more than 300 thousand rubles for our money. Read the details in the material at the link.
