Russians were counted in Dubai and were surprised

Russian tourists have become one of the main markets for Dubai: in the emirate they counted the number of Russians who arrived and were surprised. According to a statement by Hotelier Middle East, “due to open borders, political neutrality and a selection of the world's most luxurious hotels and shops,” Dubai has gained popularity – as a result, Russia is now the second largest market for tourism in Dubai, behind only India.

In numbers, it looks like this: in January 2023, 115,000 Russian visitors visited the emirate. This is 63% more than in 2022, when there were 70 thousand. At the same time, Indian tourists were in first place, with a result of 186 thousand visits during the month, Saudi Arabia took third place with 98 thousand tourists.

In general, 1.47 million foreign tourists were registered in Dubai in January 2023. At the same time, in the “pre-Covid” 2019, there were 1.61 million of them. However, the result of January last year, Dubai exceeded by almost 500 thousand tourists.

The demand of the Russians has led Dubai hotels to another urgent need: Hotelier Middle East explains, that many high-end hotels are looking for Russian-speaking staff to serve the emerging Russian market.
