Named destinations where Russian tourists will rush in the face of sanctions

Destinations where Russian tourists will flock under sanctions have been named

Turkey will benefit the most from the created conditions and air sanctions in terms of receiving Russian tourists. This assessment was voiced to Kommersant by experts from the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR). The country is ready to accept Mir cards and, in general, does not require additional expenses from the tourist, as it accepts tourists on an all-inclusive basis. Namely, these two factors will be the main ones for trips – ATOR is sure.

Demand in Russian organized outbound tourism will inevitably be forced to focus mainly on two groups of countries – those that work on “all inclusive” and those that accept “Mir” cards, experts of the association assure. Further, they note that not only Turkey, but also Tunisia, Egypt, individual hotels in the Maldives, the UAE, many hotels in Cuba, the Dominican Republic and Mexico can offer all inclusive to tourists. However, we recall that the Caribbean direction has been completely removed so far, that is, the Maldives and the United Arab Emirates remain. The Mir card, in turn, is accepted by Turkey, Vietnam, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, South Ossetia and Abkhazia.

“But countries that are neutral and open to tourists from the Russian Federation, in which there are few or no all-inclusive systems, and the majority of hotels open for breakfast, are becoming less attractive to tour operators' clients. With “all inclusive” it is enough for a tourist from Russia to pay for a package tour and that's where his costs end,” ATOR said.

Further, the experts noted that although other countries also combine both parameters – be it Egypt, the United Arab Emirates or the Maldives – Turkey will still win. Since the country has a developed all-inclusive system, and hotels have a wide network of accepting Mir cards with the potential for expansion. Recall that some Turkish experts also believe that “irrevocable circumstances” will cause 10-15 million Russian tourists to come to them.
