The 2023 tourist season in Russia may be disrupted, and it is threatened not by economic problems, but by Russian laws, the consequences of which tourism has already warned about. We are talking about certification of guides. This assessment was voiced in an interview with RIA Novosti by representatives of the PCT.
“In accordance with the law, all guides in Russia must pass certification and receive badges before July 1, 2023. However, there is no one to do this: not a single organization has yet received the appropriate accreditation, which causes serious concern for market participants, ”the agency quotes experts as saying. At the same time, at the height of the season, at least guides-guides will not be able to get “badges”, therefore this must be done before the start of the season, otherwise it will be disrupted.
At the same time, we recall that only accredited organizations can carry out certification, included in the relevant register. However, attempts by the mountaineering and sports tourism federations of Russia failed, said Nikolai Litarenko, head of the legal department of the PCT.
“Given the requirements of the law, we understand that it will be even more difficult for other organizations to obtain accreditation. And by April-May, everyone should already be certified. There are three or four months left. And according to FAR and FSTR, the capacity of this market is about 10 thousand people. The situation gives rise to a lot of questions,” the expert assured.
At the same time, Mr. Litarenko added that in general, these problems may turn out to be “for the better”. More precisely, they can become an objective reason for delaying the entry into force of the law.
