Despite the sanctions, the demand for trips of our tourists to Europe has grown. Such data was provided by Rosgosstrakh – according to the insurer's report, the demand for travel policies to the Schengen countries increased by 7% this summer. Judging by its data, Russian tourists still somehow make their way to Italy and Spain. And Estonia was among the leaders.
N.B. Earlier, Turprom wrote that the main routes to Europe for Russian tourists were published – read the details here.
“If in June-July last year, the share of the EU in the total number of online travel insurance contracts (TCR) issued was 18 %, then in the two summer months of this year it rose to 25%. This is largely due to the fact that European countries have lifted coronavirus restrictions, opened borders and remained more or less accessible to Russian tourists,” the insurer’s experts commented.
At the same time, according to Rosgosstrakh statistics, this summer the most popular Estonia has become a country in the Schengen zone for Russian tourists, where 12% of travelers who have bought travel policies go. At the same time, Spain and Italy took second and third place – 11% and 9%, respectively.
