Pegasus released important statement on Thailand

Russian tourists will be able to return to Thailand “in an organized manner”. At least one of the major Russian tour operators – Pegas Touristik – has already offered tourists to book accommodation in Phuket and other resorts. He also reminded about the rules for entering Thailand, updated from May 1.

“We offer you the opportunity to book accommodation in Phuket, as well as in the resorts of Krabi and Khao Lak. A wide range of popular hotels are already on sale,” the tour operator said. Recall that there is no direct transportation to the country yet – however, it is possible to get there with transfers – for example, through Dubai.

The tour operator also presented updated entry requirements for Thailand, which will take effect from May 1, 2022. The country has not yet lifted all covid restrictions for tourists, so the schemes for vaccinated and unvaccinated are different:

Fully vaccinated tourists:

  • Get an entry document – Thailand Pass QR-code via https://tp.consular.go.th/(application must be submitted at least 5-7 days before the expected date of departure).
  • You will need to upload the following documents to the site: a passport, a certificate of vaccination in English, proof of insurance in the amount of at least $ 10,000
  • The test for COVID-19, both before and after arrival in Thailand, is no longer required. Upon arrival in Thailand, vaccinated travelers are allowed to move freely anywhere in the kingdom.

Unvaccinated tourists are offered the following scheme:

  • Get an entry document – Thailand Pass QR-code via https://tp.consular.go.th/by uploading the set of documents below:
  • Attach the required documents, including a passport, a COVID-19 PCR test result issued within 72 hours prior to departure, and proof of insurance in the amount of at least US$10,000.
  • (Povid-19 test after arrival Travelers are not required to travel to Thailand Upon arrival in Thailand, travelers are allowed to move freely anywhere in the kingdom.)
  • Also, unvaccinated tourists may not apply a PCR test, but arrive under the “alternative quarantine” scheme and spend five days in a quarantine hotel.

As Pegasus experts added, tourists who have already been issued Thailand Pass, under the rules valid until May 1, 2022, can travel with the issued QR code and do not need to re-register. Children under the age of eighteen traveling with their parents do not need to be vaccinated.

As a reminder, as of May 1, the Thai authorities and the Covid-19 Situation Management Center decided to abandon the Test & go. The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand has instructed all airlines to educate travelers about the new entry measures that will apply from Sunday 1 May. Inbound travelers no longer need to take a PCR test on arrival or book a SHA+ hotel room to wait for test results, but some restrictions remain. Read the details here.
