Protests escalate into violence: tourists warned about the consequences of traveling to the most popular country

For European tourists, one after another, they publish warnings about traveling to France for the Easter holidays. Recently, the UK government issued a corresponding warning, as reported by the local newspaper Express. We are talking about protests, which at any moment can escalate into mass violence. However, those few Russians who still get to France should also be careful and attentive there.

The British Foreign Office has updated its travel advice following massive protests across the country. “Since mid-March, spontaneous protests have taken place in the center of Paris and elsewhere in France. Protests are likely to take place and may occur without much notice. Some protests have escalated into violence,” the Foreign Ministry warned its tourists.

At the moment, as the warning also says, a coordinated strike and large-scale demonstrations are scheduled for Thursday, April 6th. A strike may begin on the evening before the day of the strike and last for several days. Protests can lead to traffic disruptions. The strike also continues, affecting several sectors, including transport networks.

In particular, roads and some railway stations have already been blocked by protests. Passengers were also detained at the Paris train station – the protesters took to the rails and stopped traffic. Britons have also been warned that they “may experience disruption or cancellation of flights as French air traffic control is about to take part in a strike.”
