Meat in Georgia is very much loved and is constantly used in the preparation of the most different dishes. Russian tourists decided to go to the local market and find out the prices for lamb, beef and pork. They shared their surprise from what they saw with readers in their Zen channel.
Beef and pork are the most popular in Georgia, lamb is a little less loved. Russian tourists noted that such preferences are also reflected in the assortment on the local market. They managed to find only one department, where lamb was sold both in parts and in whole carcasses. The cost of one kilogram is 25 lari, or about 700 rubles.
It is much easier to find beef on the market: almost half of the trading area was filled with it. The average price per kilogram is 17-18 lari, that is, 500 rubles. The most expensive pieces of pure pulp cost a little more – 22 lari, or about 600 rubles.
Pork is the cheapest on the Georgian market. For fresh pulp they ask for 15 lari, that is, 400 rubles, for lard – 12 lari, which is a little more than 300 rubles. If desired, you can find pig heads, shank, ears. For the latter, you will have to pay 10 lari, which is less than 300 rubles.
Russian tourists were surprised by such low prices. Especially considering that the meat on the market is the freshest, and is chopped immediately on the spot at the request of the buyer. You can also buy whole carcasses.
