Sochi Airport has taken a real step towards becoming an international hub for countries accessible to Russia under sanctions. To do this, Aeroflot began selling tickets to six countries from this airport. They will be carried out by “Russia” – on the “Superjets” included in the air carrier's fleet.
The details are as follows. The six countries are:
Flights will be operated to 17 destinations:
- Turkey: Antalya, Bodrum, Dalaman, Istanbul. At the same time, 19 flights a week are planned to Istanbul and another 14 to Antalya.
- Egypt: only Cairo for now
- Israel: Tel Aviv
- Armenia: Yerevan
- Kazakhstan: Aktau, Aktobe, Alma-Ata, Atyrau, Nur-Sultan
- Uzbekistan: Bukhara, Samarkand, Tashkent, Urgench, Fergana.
“Rossiya Airlines (part of the Aeroflot Group) will fly to the destinations on SSJ-100 aircraft. To support the international program, it is planned to base up to ten aircraft of this type in Sochi, ”the air carrier clarifies in its message. According to the announced program, flights will start from April 7 to 9, and to the Turkish resorts of Bodrum and Dalaman – by the season, from April 22.
By the way, as the carrier also clarifies, transit flights are also planned. The program as a whole is designed “for transit passengers who travel abroad from Moscow Sheremetyevo, St. Petersburg Pulkovo or Krasnoyarsk (the base airports for the Aeroflot group) via Sochi.”
