The first aircraft of the airline, specially designed to carry Russian tourists on charter flights to Turkey, was presented to the general public in Antalya. We are talking about Southwind Airlines, the creation of which was announced back in the spring by the tour operator Pegas Touristik.
The main goal of the carrier was officially formulated – “to prevent the possibility of a negative impact on Turkish tourism and the Russian market.” According to Turkish media, we are talking about the Airbus A330. Last month, he received prior approval from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
Southwind Airlines is said to be arranging charter flights between Russia and Turkey. The liner is of Turkish “citizenship”, so it should not have problems with sanctions.
Let us recall that Turkish air carriers are already leading among foreigners in the skies over Russia. Turkish airlines took first place in the list of 30 airlines that continue to fly to Russia. The championship was expectedly taken by Turkish Airlines – according to the presented list, the airline operates 1,395 flights to Russia. Pegasus Airlines also made the top ten, coming in sixth.
