Yellow warning issued throughout Turkey, including Antalya and Istanbul

Yellow danger level declared throughout Turkey, including Antalya and Istanbul

Unscheduled summer delighting tourists with relatively warm and sunny weather in Turkish resorts in the coming days , or to be more precise – hours, will end with a local cataclysm. Turkey's Meteorological Directorate has issued yellow and orange warnings to at least 21 cities in the country, including Antalya and Istanbul, as well as other resort towns. Tourists expect heavy rains with possible flooding, in mountainous areas – even snowfalls, as well as storm winds and storms at sea.

In most parts of Turkey, showers, thunderstorms, and in some places snow are predicted in the coming days. Judging by the map, the “orange” level of danger is mainly in the coastal provinces, including Antalya, Izmir and Mugla, the most popular among our tourists.

“According to the 4th regional meteorological department, Antalya will be influenced by rainy weather tomorrow. It is expected that from 50 to 100 mm of precipitation in the city center, in some areas precipitation in the form of sleet and snow is possible at altitudes above 1200 meters,” meteorologists say. In addition, a storm wind will come to the coastal areas, which will last at least until Saturday – a storm is expected with a force of up to 9 points, a wind of 50-75 km/h, in some areas up to 90 km/h.

The only thing you can console tourists – the weather cataclysm will not last long, although the cold snap will remain for a long time. The main impact of the elements will fall on Friday and Saturday morning. By Saturday evening, clearings are already promised, next week tourists are promised both cloudy and sunny days, but without rain or with occasional rain. The temperature, however, is not summer – +13 during the day and +6-7 at night.

Recall that in February, a cold snap will come to another resort popular with our tourists. According to the Egyptian Meteorological Bureau, the average daytime temperature in the resorts will drop by 4-5 degrees, and at night – by 3-4 degrees.
